La Traviata in HD at Peterborough Players
Two Presentations of Popular Opera

Peterborough, NH (March 22, 2012) – The Met: Live in HD closes the 2011/12 opera season with Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata. Broadcast live via satellite onto the Peterborough Players’ big screen on Saturday, April 14th at 1:00 pm, with an encore presentation on Sunday, April 15th at 1:00pm.

The popular opera has already reached near sold-out status on April 14th, but plenty of tickets are available for the encore presentation on April 15th. Tickets: $25 adults/$20 students, available only through the Box Office: (603) 924-7585 for the 14th, and through the Box Office or Online: www.PeterboroughPlayers.org for the 15th.

Natalie Dessay plays the lead role of Violetta in Willy Decker’s stunning production; this is Dessay’s first Violetta at the Metropolitan Opera. Matthew Polenzani sings Alfredo, Dmitri Hvorostovsky is Germont, and Principal Guest Conductor Fabio Luisi is on the podium. Approximate run time: 3 hours, 15 minutes.
