The SantaLand Diaries Opens at Peterborough Players
Kraig Swartz Stars in this One-Man Comedy
Peterborough, NH (September 11, 2009) – The SantaLand Diaries, a comedy by David Sedaris and adapted by Joe Mantello, opens at the Peterborough Players professional theatre on September 16th. Players favorite Kraig Swartz plays Crumpet in this one-man show about Sedaris’s real-life experience as a Christmas elf in Macy’s Herald Square Department Store’s famed Santaland.
Swartz, who played Crumpet at the New Repertory Theatre in Boston last season to rave reviews, will keep the audience laughing in this comic, caustic tale. While SantaLand was written originally by David Sedaris as a true “diary” that he read aloud to various audiences, Tony-winning stage director Mantello saw it as theater: “David’s writing is so peculiar and twisted; I had to bring it to the stage.”
Christmas in September has never been funnier – and no one has to brave winter storms to get to the theatre. Please note that The SantaLand Diaries is NOT suitable for children.
